yeah it makes me laugh. the one i cant stand is people getting girls/guys names on them. unless its offspring, mother, father, deceased friend or family member i cringe when people get that. i refuse to do it. i had this one guy come to me with an arabic phrase, i tattooed it and he came back later and was like "uh dude i need you to fix it" i say: "what did i screw up",

so yeah, one of the worst i ever saw... a friend of a friend came running up to me one day yelling 'mat mat look i got a tattoo!' she got a halo and the acronym for 'Disciple Of God' on the back of her neck. THAT MEANS SHE GOT 'D.O.G.' ON THE BACK OF HER NECK!!!!!! hahahahahahaha! now i'm all about tattoos that express your belief, i have a ton of tattoos that in some way shape or form express my belief, but your neck freakin says DOG you idiot!!!!

i agree it definitely is starting to lean twards the "fad" area of things. hopefully its not the next nautical star. or worse, barbwire arm bands (cue dramatic bum bum bum sound)

i'm so glad i never got anything fad like.. i can proudly say i don't sport any armbands or tribal... i do however have a red heart with a banner that says mom on my shoulder.. i figured you couldn't get more stereotypical than that.

yeah but the mom one is classic. its not something you look at and say "oh god not another one of those" i see tribal and cringe. i have only done one tribal and i hated every second of doing it. its boring and teidious

reminds me, once almost got the kanji for 'hot sauce' tattooed on me due to a dare (any of my friends can tell u how much i LOOOOVE hot sauce) but i kinda figured nobody i know knows how to read it, so anyone who saw it in passing wouldnt get the joke. didnt wanna b that guy.
although hebrew and arabic are cool, if u have some purpose for having it done. know a dude whos got the Shema prayer as a half-sleeve, and wanted it in the original hebrew text, totally rad. one of my friends whos a tattooer has tattooed the hebrew transliteration for the un-pronounceable, holy name of God (YHWH) on almost every one of our friends, that i understand as well. that shit rules. as does the kanji for chef if ur a sushi chef! hey i love sushi, and that means something to you, not to mention its tongue-in-cheek.

yeah.. i would have the get the chef kanji on my neck if i did ever get it.. just to show my devotion to the fish... which reminds me.. i could get a forearm tattoo of a spicy tuna roll surrounded by water.. it would look as if it were meant to be a koi.. but ended up a roll. that would be the funniest thing ever... too bad i cook british food.. i can't really see myself with a fish and chips tattoo.
