When it comes to adult animation, “Family Guy” ranks among the greats. Seth MacFarlane created the series and also voices its protagonist, Peter Griffin. It premiered in 1999 and follows the Griffin family—patriarch Peter Griffin, his wife Lois Griffin (voiced by Alex Borstein), his daughter Meg Griffin (voiced by Mila Kunis since season two), his oldest son Chris Griffin (voiced by Seth Green), his youngest son Stewie Griffin (voiced by MacFarlane) and their dog Brian Griffin (voiced by MacFarlane). The show is set in the fictional town of Quahog, Rhode Island and follows in the Griffin family’s adventures, along with their neighbors Quagmire (voiced by MacFarlane), Cleveland (voiced by Mike Henry until 2021) and Joe (voiced by Patrick Warburton). 

The show has run for an impressive 20 seasons and spurned 385 episodes thus far. It’s been renewed for a 21st season, which will likely air in September 2022. “Family Guy” resulted in one spin-off series, “The Cleveland Show,” which aired for four seasons from 2009 to 2013. It’s also won three Primetime Emmy Awards thus far and has been nominated for 11.
