50 Colorful ‘The Powerpuff Girls’ Tattoos
Who's your favorite Powerpuff girl?
In 1998, Cartoon Network was hot off the release of some of their most popular animated shows to date, namely “Dexter’s Laboratory” and “Johnny Bravo.” Then, they debuted one of their most successful series of all time, “The Powerpuff Girls.” The series was written, directed and created by Craig McCracken, who’d go on to create “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.” The show followed three kindergartners, named Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, who possess superhuman powers. They live in the fictional town called Townsville and are raised by their father/creator Professor Utonium. Throughout the series, they come to the aid of the mayor to help fight crime and defeat villains using their powers.
Each of the Powerpuff girls brings something different to the table. You see, when creating his daughters, scientist Professor Utonium mixed together “sugar, spice and everything nice,” resulting in the Powerpuff girls. Blossom is the group’s leader and represents everything nice. Bubbles is known for being sweet and represents sugar. Whereas Buttercup is the tough tomboy and represents spice. Together, they make an unstoppable force that’s able to vanquish villains such as Mojo Jojo and HIM.
The show ran for six seasons, wrapping in 2005, but it was later rebooted in 2016. This reboot introduced new voice actors for the main characters, as well as a fourth Powerpuff girl named Bliss, who’s brought on as the long lost older sister of the trio. The franchise is currently awaiting the much anticipated live action television series, which will air on The CW. This show, titled “Powerpuff,” has cast Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles and Yana Perrault as Buttercup.
In honor of the upcoming live action “Powerpuff,” take a look at 50 of our favorite tattoos depicting the iconic animated show in the gallery below. Then let us know if you’re sugar, spice or everything nice in the comments section on social media.
