15 People Who Might Want to Remove Their Michael Jackson Tattoos

What will happen to all of the Michael Jackson's tattoos after HBO's Leaving Neverland?

On March 3rd of 2019, the two-part documentary film Leaving Neverland premiered on HBO. The film introduced audiences to Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck, two men who had relationships with music icon Michael Jackson while they were 7 and 10 respectively. In the film, both men and their families allege that Jackson had sexually abused them at his home, Neverland Ranch. There have been many public responses to this film on both sides of the aisle, with some sharing their support for Robson and Safechuck and others denying their allegations as a ploy for financial gain. Either way, Michael Jackson’s reputation, and his legacy have been permanently altered by this film.

Speaking of permanent, it’s time to talk about the hundreds of Michael Jackson tattoos that have been inked over the years. Prior to the release of this film, many tattoo enthusiasts showed their support to their music hero through portraits. However, some of them may want to remove or cover their tattoos after these allegations.

Hopefully, this film and the many allegations that have been made against public figures will be a word of warning against the consequences of getting a tattoo of your favorite celebrity. Like getting a tattoo for a significant other, there’s always a risk when getting a tattoo for someone else. Even the most “innocent” of individuals can have their dirty laundry aired, even in death. Only time will tell if people decide to have their tattooed covered and unfortunately (or fortunately) there are plenty of beautiful Michael Jackson portraits out there.
