It’s no question that social media has completely transformed the tattoo industry. The days are gone where the only artists you have access to are in a ten-mile radius and now millions of tattooers are available 24/7 in the palm of your hand. For the first time in history, anyone with a smartphone can research artists from around the globe and more people than ever are exposed to the world of tattooing. And while there are many benefits that have come with the boom of social media, it’s also important to recognize that there are obvious consequences. One the consequences of a digitalized tattoo business is false marketing, specifically when it comes to publishing pictures of fresh and healed tattoos.
