WWE 15-time world champion John Cena appears in Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s hilarious new movie Sisters as a heavily tattooed drug dealer. Cena told Page Six, “In real life I would never do that.” If he did, his mother might disown him.
Cena said he doesn’t have tattoos on his body because “My mom would kill me if I was to do anything like that.” Forget the part about playing a drug dealer. Isn’t it amazing to see that no matter your age, Mom still has the final say? We know a few moms who are all about their kids getting inked.
Perhaps another reason he refuses to get inked in real life is because of his status in the WWE—the league is extremely strict about wrestlers getting tattooed after their identity becomes a “brand.”
The mamas boy has pretty big and also not well done tattoos in Sisters, including facial tattoos and flames firing up his forearm. Cena’s characters even has ink on his knuckles.
The WWE wrestler has made quite the transition to the silver screen recently. Before Sisters, he starred in Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck as her on-again-off-again boyfriend. Now, it is rumored that he has a role in Daddy’s Home, the latest comedy from Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell in which the two fight over being the primary father of the same children. As it turns out, the kids belong to Cena.
Regardless of Cena’s short airtime in these funny flicks, the 38-year-old has proven he is indeed a talented actor.
Check out a tattooed Cena (2:00) in the Sisters trailer below, now in theaters.
