And then the internet happened.
Late last night, someone leaked the trailer—obviously shot using a handheld camera from a seat in a theater. What do we see? Ben Affleck shows up in the debut as Bruce Wayne that we’ve all been waiting for, and we see Henry Cavill’s Superman in action. And of course the trailer wouldn’t be complete without shots of the Batmobile and Superman lifting something that only a super man could lift. The trailer is not only about what we see, but also about what we hear.
Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons’s Alred appear in the trailer but only in voice-overs, along with other voices discussing the controversy of the world’s new “savior.”
“Devils don’t come from hell beneath us,” Luthor says. “No, they come from the sky.”
“Go home! Go home! Go home!” an angry mob chants.
“That’s how it starts,” Jeremy Irons says in the trailer as Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler Alfred. “The fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness. It turns good men cruel.”
Something I’m sure we’ll all discover as we wait powerlessly until we can watch the whole film in 2016. Until then, here are some Batman tattoos vs. Superman tattoos. You can watch the trailer below.
