Almost every red-blooded American will agree that there is nothing better than spending a crisp fall weekend with friends tailgating with friends and watching football. We hate to break it to you but there may be something even better—tailgating with the Bulleit Whiskey Woody Tailgate Trailer.
Let’s be honest, your prime years for playing beer pong and grilling on a tiny hibachi while pounding cheap beer are behind you. Isn’t it time you enjoyed tailgate season with a higher class of setup and drink? Designed by the illustrious Brad Ford, the trailer is made out of repurposed Bulleit barrels and is fully stocked with the delicious whiskey that once lived in those same barrels. The trailer retails for over $150,000 so it is only for the most serious tailgaters, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t visit the trailer for a beverage as it tours the country.
Now through September 16th the famed trailer will be in the New York City area. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Giants fan or a Jets fan, all who love finally crafted bourbon and rye are welcome. You can follow the travels of the trailer on Instagram @BulleitWoody.
If you aren’t in the New York area but still want to enjoy a fine cocktail while watching the games we recommend you mix yourself up a New York Sour. Don’t worry, it only has three ingredients so you can easily make one during a commercial break without missing any of the game.
The New York Sour
Ingredients: 1.3 oz. Bulleit Rye, .5 oz. lemon juice, .75 oz. simple syrup.
Preparation: In a rocks glass, combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into an ice filled rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge or cherry.
