Ink Inspired By a DC Legend
In 1940, The Joker was introduced to the world through the comic book Batman by DC Comics. The Joker was originally brought in to be immediately vanquished, however, he soon became the main archenemies to Batman in both the comic and film series. He was brought in as a criminal psychopath with a sadistic sense of humor during the Golden Age of comics, then by the Silver Age he was portrayed as a goofy prankster before returning his dark ways during the Bronze Age. Fast forward to the comic revival a.k.a. Modern Age of comics, The Joker is engrained as the super villain of the century into popular culture. With the aid of blockbuster film adaptations by A-listers including Jack Nicholson (1989), Heath Ledger (2008), and Jared Leto (2016) —The Joker has been immortalized in our minds and our skin as a pivotal character in comic book history. We’ve scoured social media to find some of the best, brightest, and boldest Joker tattoos from around the world and it’s time you checked them out for yourself in the gallery below.
