Hello to all of you who read this blog of mine. Sorry Beyond the Ink was on a sort of a break. I have been working and creating like crazy to give you all better posts and content over the next few weeks.
Recently, I was lucky enough to travel with my best gal pals to the Ozarks for a super American 4th of July experience. There were many photos taken and memories captured. Please enjoy these photos I took of my good friend Bridget Blonde while we were running amuck in Missouri and Kansas.
Bridget and I have been friends for several years and I’m so happy to introduce you all to my very own babe of radness!
Hi bridget! Can you tell us a little about yourself for those that aren’t familiar with your work?
Hello there!!! Hmm, lets see, I moved to LA from Houston, TX almost 9 years ago and never looked back! Yeeeeehaw!!! Since then I have been in or on the cover of 50+ magazines, my favorite being the cover of GARAGE Magazine (the mens mag that Jesse James owned). Ive been in several music videos from The Black Keys “ Next Girl” to LMFAO to Far East Movement, and I also worked for Fuel TV (RIP). Damn, sometimes I forget all the rad work I’ve been a part of!!!
You’re sort of an OG in the alt model pin up world. How have you seen your modeling work progress and change over the years?
Awe why thank you (insert blushing princess face here) ;p My modeling work changed drastically through the years, that was actually something I caught a lot of flak for from hardcore pin-up/alt model fans. I was built up in that world but as I grew I felt pigeon-holed so I just started to shoot more lifestyle-esque content and took on more of whatever was inspiring me at the time. Opening myself up to all styles of modeling really helped me grow and ultimately led me to the best decisions I’ve ever made!
At what point did you decide you wanted to start your clothing brand, The Blonde Locks?
In 2010 and into 2011 I was working with numerous clothing brands such as The Hundreds and Johnny Cupcakes, during that time I really fell in love with the whole idea of creating something tangible that spoke to a niche group of people. And thus TBL was born.
We haven’t seen many new things from BL lately, can we expect new goodies to drop soon?
YES!!!! I am actually in the process of finalizing mock-ups as we speak! Hoping the first drop will be in the next few weeks.
What inspires you to create new product?
EVERYTHING!!! Literally everything. My friends, my childhood, skateboarding, food, beautiful babes, adventures, and the feelings that come with all those things.
Can you describe a normal day in the life of Bridget Blonde?
Wake up, stretch, take 10 super deep breaths breathe out slowly, drink a liter of water, walk the dogs, and then prepare for anything because there is no such thing as normal after breakfast.
OK, now about the shoot. How was it going all the way to the Ozarks and shooting these photos out there?
OMG, INCREDIBLE! I was with my favorite ladies in a beautiful place creating memories, then documenting them for y’all to see and us to remember. Waking up with no worries for a week is really all a human can ask for.
Which set was your favorite to shoot?
Oh yikes! Interview hardball now damn! We were really able to get so much amazing content from all of the sets, but I think if I had to pick it would be the rooftop shots. They were the first set we shot and we were both totally ready and in the moment to the max! Also, I feel they capture so much beauty of the lake and all that was surrounding us there.
