We’re happy to present a very special issue of Freshly Inked guest edited by BJ Betts. We told the lettering master to get together a group of artists for this issue and you won’t believe the dream team that he assembled. Every single form of tattooing is represented in this issue, and it was no coincidence.
“I really wanted to make it a pretty eclectic mix and have all the bases covered between lettering, black and grey, traditional, Japanese and guys that have made their own thing,” Betts says. “That’s what tattooing is, it’s not the specialization that it has turned into. I’ve been tattooing for over twenty years and when I first learned how to tattoo you needed to be proficient in every style. You learned everything.”
Betts’ vision has led to an issue of Freshly Inked absolutely coming apart at the seams with talent—Shawn Barber, Grime, Chris Brand, Em Scott, Bert Krak and many more. The issue will be hitting newsstands in a week, but we wanted to give you a little sugar before you pick up your copy. Check out this gallery featuring work from all of the amazing artists in this issue. Then, hurry up and order your copy online to se all the rest.
