When you have a name like Lauren Starkiller, today’s Inked Girl of the Day, you better be prepared to back it up. The incredibly sexy Lauren is certainly up to that monumental task. The self-described scoundrel has a plethora of amazing tattoos in all sorts of different styles. While the styles may change there is one theme that unifies most of her work—animals. The majority of her work, including the amazing tattoo of birds flying up her stomach, features some sort of animal.
“My favorite tattoo is my stomach piece done by Eugene Lee,” Lauren explains. “I had emergency surgery in Thailand in 2004 because I was in the tsunami. I had a large scar running all the way up my stomach which I was able to cover with this tattoo.”
That stomach tattoo is a great minder of the healing power of tattoos. Before there was a scar left behind from a near death experience, now there is a beautiful tattoo with a clearly uplifting story behind it. It takes a perfect collaboration between artist and recipient to create the best work. Lauren works closely with her tattooist of choice, Eugene Lee, to craft her ink. Soon she will be handing over complete creative control to Lee over her back piece. Finding the right artist can be difficult and Lauren has some advice about how to do so.
“I have traveled all over the world for my tattoos—it’s worth it to go to the right artist,” Lauren says. “I consider myself a collector and love discovering new artists in new places.”
You can see all of Lauren’s alluring pictures at her 2 Inked Girls profiles here and here. If you think that you have what it takes to be our next Inked Girl of the Day you can submit your portfolio at this link.
