If I had a nickel for every time I have stared at an astonishing tattoo and wondered just how the hell it was possible to create such an impressive piece of art, well, I certainly wouldn’t be working, I can tell you that. While I sadly don’t have all of those nickels I have been able to gain some insight into how tattoos are created thanks to the latest Tattoo Timelapse from SullenTV.
This edition of the video series focuses on London Reese as he tattoos a portrait of Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York. If you aren’t familiar with Reese’s work you really need to change that as quickly as possible. Reese specializes in color realism and continually produces amazing portraits, often inspired by movies and pop culture. In fact, this isn’t the first Bill the Butcher he has tattooed!
By focusing their cameras on Reese for the entirety of the session, SullenTV is able to show all of the detail that goes into creating a lifelike piece that will stay with the owner for years to come. The shots are so tight that I found myself flinching a little bit while viewing this video, it was almost as if I was receiving the tattoo myself. So, check out the video below and marvel at the masterpiece that Reese has created.
If you like this SullenTV video you’re in luck; it is just one of many that we have here on Inkedmag.com. If you want to catch up on what you may have missed at Musink click here.
