From All Around The World
This past weekend, from Friday, July 13 – Sunday, July 15, the Big Apple hosted another tattoo convention that took place at the Hilton Hotel in midtown, Manhattan. The crème de la crème of the tattoo world worked skin to skin, competing to win big. Artists such as Megan Massacre and Carlos Torres were busy mingling with fans and of course tattooing.
Most loyal convention goers, probably still remember the Annual New York City Tattoo convention at the “Roseland Ballroom” that sadly closed its doors in 2014, due to being demolished by the city new building projects. However, for four years, INKED has presented the NY Empire State Tattoo Expo, with great success. The two-floor convention, that also includes a bar upstairs, is able to hold various booths and was hosted by the legendary Paul Booth and Stefano Alcantara. For three days, the Hilton Hotel saw a different light of day, people from all around the world stopped by to either collect some ink or just stop in out of curiosity. But besides the merch and ink supplies, the expo also showcased some talented burlesque entertainers, such as LouLou D’vil, Frankie Fictitious, and Bon Bon Cherry.
