Although there are many Eastern and Subtropical religions that embrace and include tattooing as an integral and highly spiritual aspect of their worship, most Western religions and tattoos have been at odds for centuries. The Jewish religion out-and-out frowns upon tattoos although the section of the Bible that refers to “marking your body” appears in both the Jewish and Christian faiths.
Recently the high profile, tattooed NYC pastor to the stars Carl Lentz addressed the topic of tattoos and the Catholic church with some interesting and controversial words. We took a look at what he had to say and also give you the “biblical reasons” why tattooing is forbidden.
