Hey there Inked fam!
Today I pulled a shoot from the archives. I shot with new face, Chelsea Chambless, a few months ago. I took a second look at the photos and decided there was no reason to not share these with the world! She looks great, I love the mood, and I thought it would be nice to get some perspective from a new model.
Everyone, meet Chelsea!
xx

Hi Chelsea! It’s been a while since we shot, what’s new?
Hey! Yeah this year has been flying by, it’s insane. But nothing much just trying to endure this California heat!
I see your hair has been through many changes, what shade are you currently rocking?
Yes! My good friend Rachel Stefanik at Salon Village in SF always keeps me fresh! Right now I have purple roots melting into pinks, blues, and greens.
I know you’re relatively new to the modeling world, but I kinda wanted to talk about that a bit. What made you decide to pursue modeling?
It was something I had always thought about doing, but I was always too nervous! I would put off talking to photographers and I never seemed ready to start. Then a friend of mine suggested this awesome local photographer and he made the whole shoot such fun! And I was in LOVE with the photos. Once I did that first shoot, other photographers started asking me to collab and I just kept growing! Since I’ve started modeling, my self confidence has skyrocketed and I’m so happy to be a part of this industry with so many creatives.
What are you favorite types of photo shoots?
I absolutely love doing lingerie shoots! Lingerie is so beautiful to me and the way it accents the female body is so enticing. And I just feel like a celestial being when I’m in the zone during a shoot in some gorgeous lingerie!!
I love the photos I saw from the marriage equality shoot that you did. How was that experience?
It was absolutely amazing. Karla from Second Summer Bride in Sacramento asked me to be a part of a “different” bridal shoot and I was blown away! We teamed up with Thúy Custom Clothier and I married Kira Conley for an ad that appeared in The Knot magazine.
How was it different modeling in a gorgeous designer gown compared to that awesome suit?
I felt so sleek and badass in the suit and the dresses really made me feel like a princess!! The suit was so much easier to move around in. At one point, I was wearing this gorgeous gown with amazing lingerie strap details, and I jumped onto a rock for the shoot and I ripped the straps! I think the dress was around $7,000. I was so embarrassed!
Oh no! Hey things happen when you’re modeling on location. What other challenges have you faced as a new model in the industry?
Definitely just getting myself out there. It’s so hard to learn to sell yourself in a way that other people understand your vision. But it’s really helped me to grow and truly learn more about myself, and I think that’s pretty cool.
Let’s shift gears and talk about your tattoos a bit. How often do you get tattooed?
Lately, I haven’t been getting tattooed enough! I usually get 3-4 a year, and right now I’ve only gotten one. Looks like I have some catching up to do.
Do you have a specific artist you go to?
No, I have tattoos from a few different artists. I enjoy so many peoples’ art!
Which is your favorite piece?
That’s so hard! I’d probably have to say my neo traditional girl with a wolf head by Gorgeous George at Emerald Tattoo in Lodi. It was based of a piece of art by Rik Lee, and I got his permission to use it as a tattoo idea. We changed a few things up and I based the wolf head off my own Alaskan Malamute, Dante!
Do you have any new tattoos planned?
Definitely! I’m hoping to get started on the back of my neck and down my back this summer.
Last but not least, where can our readers find you on social media?
They can find me on Instagram at @facesofchelsea and on Snapchat at @hellochelseaaa.
