Paris Jackson’s New Ink: the Eye of Horus, the Donnie Darko Rabbit and More

When Paris Jackson turned 18 years old back in April, she immediately began experimenting with tattoos, getting a “Queen of my heart” tattoo for her father, the late Michael Jackson, and another tattoo inspired by his Dangerous album cover. Over the past couple of months though, Paris has gotten more comfortable with bigger, bolder ink, and that elevated comfort level has translated into larger, more significant and colorful tattoos, including three impressive new pieces she showed off this past weekend.

One of the first new tattoos Paris Jackson got over the weekend—her 22nd, if you can believe it—is a large, colorful piece on the inside of her right bicep featuring a green snake coiled around a sword, with a skull on top and a hilt shaped into dragon wings. Paris’ snake and sword tattoo was inked by tattoo artist Brandy Hollowell of Liquid Metal Tattoo in West Point, Virginia, while Paris and her boyfriend, Michael Snoddy, were visiting Snoddy’s home state. Hollowell also posted a photo of Paris’s new tattoo, captioning the snap, “Another day I’m blessed to have amazing clients…thank you @michaelsnoddy and @parisjackson for stopping by and letting me have the honor of tattooing yall! The sweetest couple ever…and Paris you sit like a gangster.”

The following day, June 13, Paris took to Instagram to show off another new tattoo, this one a tiny piece featuring the Eye of Horus inked on the thumb of her right hand. The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol signifying royal power, protection and good health, and it appears that Paris’ Eye of Horus tattoo matches that of Nigerian rapper, Omer Bhatti. In a split-screen photo posted to Paris’ Instagram account, you can see Paris and Omer on the left with their matching Michael Jackson Dangerous tribute tattoos, and on the right with their matching Eye of Horus tats. Paris captioned the photo of their matching tattoos, “bart & lisa back at it again.”

That very same day, Paris posed in another Instagram photo that shows off a massive tattoo on her right forearm inspired by the 2001 film Donnie Darko, a cult classic in which a troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a large rabbit predicting the end of the world. The tattoo, one of Paris’ largest and boldest pieces, takes up the majority of her forearm and features the demonic rabbit from Donnie Darko, with the phrase “WAKE UP” inked below it. Paris captioned the photo of her sinister new Donnie Darko tattoo with a quote from the movie: “What if you could go back in time and take all those hours of pain and darkness and replace them with something better – with things that remind you of how beautiful the world can be?”
