9-Year-Old Girl Has Been a Tattoo Artist for 3 Years (+ Video!)
Noko Nishigaki followed the footsteps of her father and tattoo artist, "Gakkin".
13-year-old Ezrah “The Shark” Dormon, is going to have to make room for the next generation’s prodigy tattoo artist.
Noko Nishigaki, daughter of a famous Japanese tattoo artist, “Gakkin”, has been designing and drawing tattoos since she was six-years old. Her father, Kenji Nishigaki, has been teaching her the ropes, and she now tattoos in the studio.
She had practiced her art on silicon and oranges… as well as her dad’s skin. Noko already has her own list of clients.
Her father had opened a parlor in Amsterdam, where Noko designs delicate birds and dream catchers, as well as a variety of custom pieces.
Kenji said customers “always look happy when they get a tattoo done by her.”
“She receives many warm messages,” he said.
Noko is enjoying her move from Japan to the Netherlands, but misses her bird, who lives with her grandparents.
While she loves gaining tattooist experience, her dad says she is “really looking forward to going back to Japan and seeing bird again.”
Noko often wears temporary tattoo sleeves, and when she isn’t holding a tattoo machine in her hand, she is “dancing and gaming with her friends.”
“She designed her first tattoo when she was six-years-old and received an honorable mention award for a drawing contest for an insurance company,” her father said.
The nine-year-old never charges for her tattoos and says her only aspiration is to be able to draw a “beautifully straight line.”
