Did Hawkeye Get Tattooed in Avengers: Endgame?
Take a look at the Marvel character's brand new ink!
On April 26th, 2019 Avengers: Endgame will premiere in theaters. This is the fourth (and potentially final) film in Marvel’s Avengers series and will be a direct sequel to 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. On April 2nd, 2019 Marvel Entertainment released a special look of the upcoming film and many had their eyes on Jeremy Renner’s character, Hawkeye.
Renner first appeared as Hawkeye in 2011’s Thor and went on to play the archer in 2012’s The Avengers, 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. And while his character, as well as Ant-Man, didn’t make an appearance in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, directors Anthony and Joe Russo told the Happy Sad Confused podcast that “There is a… we have a really interesting story cooked up for both of those characters, and part of that story required that they be under house arrest.”
However, Hawkeye is back in action for the fourth film and as the special look teaser would indicate, he’s gone through a dramatic physical transformation. In the video, Renner’s character is seen with a tattoo sleeve and fans believe the ink is connected to his alias Ronin. Ronin is a character who assumes the physical appearance of a samurai, which would explain the Japanese tattoo on Renner’s bicep in the teaser. However, fans will have to stay tuned to learn the truth about Hawkeye and his new ink in Avengers: Endgame until it hits theaters later this month.
What do you think about Hawkeye/Ronin’s new ink? Who do you think is the tattoo artist behind the superhero’s ink? Want to know more? Then take a peek at the special look teaser below and let us know your thoughts on this story in the comments section.
