Ill Tattoos to Pair With the ‘Beastie Boys Story’ Documentary
Check your Apple TV+ for the new documentary looking at the history of the iconic group directed by Spike Jonze.
Just when we were starting to run out of things to watch under lockdown, Apple TV+ saves the day with the release of “Beastie Boys Story.” The documentary traces the 40 year history of friendship and music between Michael “Mike D” Diamond, Adam “MCA” Yauch and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horowitz.
The doc, directed by frequent Beastie Boys collaborator Spike Jonze, uses archival footage, like most documentaries, but gives it a whole new spin. Labeled as a “Live Documentary,” the film features Diamond and Horowitz on stage in front of a live audience at the Kings Theater in Brooklyn as they tell the story of their band, and of their friendship.
We’re super excited to see the documentary, so we went out and found tattoos inspired by the groundbreaking trio. Check them out in the gallery below.
