5 Female Tattoo Artists Who Create Realistic Nipple Tattoos For Breast Cancer Survivors
These mastectomy tattoo artists are changing lives for breast cancer survivors
Over the past several years, mastectomy tattoos have become increasingly popular. And when it comes to camouflaging scars with a tattoo, there are two main ways of going about it. First and foremost, an artist can create an organic design that flows with the body and adds an artistic flair to cover mastectomy scars. Many common coverups for breast cancer survivors include flowers and ornamental designs.
The second route for a mastectomy tattoo is created a realistic three-dimensional nipple. This form of tattooing is referred to as areola reconstruction and can be performed by both artistic or cosmetic tattooers. The process involves using tattoo pigments that have been matched to the individual and shading to mimic a three-dimensional effect.
We found 5 talented female tattoo artists who specialize in creating realistic nipple tattoos and have changed the lives of women who’ve survived breast cancer. Take a look at their work in the gallery below and let us know your thoughts on these tattoos in the comments section.
