Easter Sweets Tattoos

You can't get your hands on Easter candy all year round, but you can ink your favorite on you until that cute pink basket arrives

Easter is upon us, and you know what that means—an excuse to binge on sweets! Sure, you might be a bit too old to scavenge for goodies at the family Easter egg hunt, but the best part about being an adult is that you can go to the store and buy candy whenever you want, and as much as you want, no questions asked. You know what they say, Jesus didn’t give his life for you to not be able to treat yourself to a little chocolate bunny.

Eggs originally developed their association to Easter because of their symbolization of new life and the resurrection. Though dyed eggs, hot cross buns and tender lamb trace their origins back to Pagan spring festivals of ancient times, candy wasn’t thrown into the typical Easter mix until much later. In the late 1800s, European candy-makers began crafting chocolate eggs for the holiday. As time went on, the eggs grew more divine, being filled with cream or jelly and covered in designs made of sugar, icing and paper to appear even more delectable.

Before long, you could find sweets of all kinds cropping up in your Easter rotation. Most of them lean towards rich and decadent—you know, chocolates, caramels, Reese’s and marshmallows galore. More than anything, though, you’re likely to find heaps of peeps in your Easter basket each year. If you’re a fiend for foodie tattoos, these adorable Easter treats will be right up your alley. A word of caution, though, that such a tattoo might open you up to debates with strangers about what’s the best Easter candy, and I won’t be able to defend you if you say anything other than jelly beans or Swedish Fish. Nonetheless, enjoy these sweet Easter tattoos, and don’t think too hard about what your dentist will say at the next checkup.
