Exclusive: Ariana Grande’s Tattoo Artist Shares Inspiration Behind Her New Hand Tattoo
Check Out Grande's HUGE Hand Tattoo
While in past years, Hollywood heavy weights such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus racked up the most ink, 2018’s most frequently tattooed star award clearly belongs to Ariana Grande. That’s right, while it may be surprising to audiences around the globe, Grande is quickly becoming one of the most tattooed singers on the charts. Sure, she’s not busting out a full torso piece like Bieber or rocking a sleeve like Liam Payne—however, it seems like every other week the “Thank U Next” singer is in the tattoo chair. And this time, instead of getting tattooed alongside a love interest, Grande stunned social media by getting tattooed with her 93-year-old Grandma or Nonna as she calls her. Take a look at the gallery below to see Grande’s new tattoo as well as her Grandma’s badass ink. Then let us know what you think of their fresh ink in the comments section on Facebook.
If there’s someone in this world that singer Ariana Grande loves most, it’s her Nonna Marjorie Grande. The two have an extremely close bond and over the weekend, the pair decided to get matching tattoos at Brooklyn’s Fleur Noire Tattoo.
Grande enlisted the skills of Mira Mariah, who began her journey as a tattoo artist in 2014. Mariah began her formal apprenticeship in Brooklyn and her art focuses “on femme imagery and animals (faces, the female form, snakes, ornamental leaves, florals).” Mariah has inked a number of high profile professionals in the past, including Ilana Glazer of Broad City, Justin Bieber and Paris Jackson. However, we’d argue that Grande will help take this talented tattooed to the next level with this gorgeous (and GIANT) hand tattoo.
Mariah created a stunning design of a crescent moon and sun for Grande’s left hand—arguably becoming the “Thank U Next” singer’s largest tattoo to date.
While Mariah couldn’t completely spill the beans about the new tattoo, she did tell us that “the piece was inspired by imagery I use often.”
Additionally, Grande’s Nonna got tatted up by Mariah as well. Instead of going big and bold like her granddaughter, Marjorie opted for a simple yet sassy script tattoo on her ring finger. Talk about being a cool Grandma!
What do you think about Grande and her Grandma’s brand new tattoos? Are you shocked that the pop diva decided on a design this large? Let us know your thoughts, opinions and questions on Grande’s new ink in the comments section on Facebook.
