Halsey Calls Out Loud Fan Screaming G-Eazy’s Name
This man learned not to mess with Halsey
During the last half of the 2010s, Halsey not only appeared on our radar but dominated the music scene with hits like “New Americana,” “Now or Never,” “Bad at Love,” and “Without Me.” Along the way, fans have not only been privy to musical evolution, but followed her as a public figure. And like many stars in Hollywood, that comes with everyone knowing everything about your dating life.
During her early days in the spotlight, Halsey was in a relationship with producer Lido, who had an influence on her debut album “Badlands.” Then, in 2017, Halsey began dating rapper G-Eazy after the pair met at a party. They then when on to collaborate on the song “Him & I,” which peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. The couple first announced their split in July 2018 and was on and off before officially parting ways in November. Halsey later confirmed in an interview with Glamour magazine that her song “Without Me” was partially inspired by their relationship and breakup.
Many believe that their breakup was caused by cheating on G-Eazy’s part, however, that wasn’t officially confirmed until a year later when Halsey performed on “Saturday Night Live.” During the performance of “Without Me,” handwritten messages from G-Eazy were projected, including a note that read, “I’m so sorry Ashley, I cheated,” alongside the various locations the cheating occurred—Los Angeles, London, New Orleans, Chicago, Austin and Minneapolis.
Despite the time that has passed as well as the new relationship Halsey entered with actor Evan Peters in October of 2019, her ex-boyfriend is still a sore subject—especially in the context of what went down during her February 2nd show. During a pre-Super Bowl concert in Miami, a fan began heckling the singer by screaming “G-Eazy” repeatedly during the show. Halsey was not having the disrespect and proceeded to let the fan have it. In a video, which has since been shared to Twitter, Halsey can be heard calling out the taunting fan, saying “If you say G-Eazy one more f***ing time, I will kick you out this building,” as well as, “You’re not going to disrespect me like that at my own show.”
Later that night, Halsey took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the ordeal and encouraging her female fans to stand up for themselves, saying “Don’t tolerate disrespect in the name of being ‘nice’.”
