There are a lot of perks to being a tattoo artist. Some are obvious—you get to draw on people, you make decent money, etc.—but there are also some hidden benefits. We asked our panel of tattoo artists to share some of the unexpected perks that come with the gig.
Some artists have been showered with gifts by grateful clients, which is always appreciated and cool. Others just really appreciate the freedom that comes from not having to punch a clock or wear a tie. And did we mention the free tattoos? Oh yeah, there are definitely free tattoos.
