Florida Rapper Mourns the Slaying of 2 Friends and Then is…

With Friends Like This, Who Needs Enemies?

Oh Florida, will you and your wonderful cast of characters ever cease to cause our jaws to drop? We have to admit, this particular story, in addition to being quirky, is downright despicable. And here’s how it played out.

Back on October 26th, 2018 in Miramar, FL, a city about 30 miles northwest of Miami Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. were gunned down in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting.

Police report that Cortlen Henry, 20, a friend of both young men drove the injured pair to the hospital at just after 4:30 a.m.. However, they two were pronounced dead upon arrival. They succumbed to the multiple gunshot wounds they had suffered.

A Florida rapper named YNW Melly, (legal name is Jamell Demons), and the singer of the songs “Melly the Menace” and “Murder On My Mind” was ‘devastated” by the loss of his friends and posted on his instagram. And the day after the murders he posted posted a photo of him with Williams and Thomas, writing: “They Took My Brothers From Me Over Jealousy. I know y’all watching over me.”

It appears that even months later, Demons still couldn’t get over his friends’ deaths and posted this, ”I want you guys to know I love you and appreciate every single one of y’all, a couple months ago I lost my two brothers by violence and now the system want to find justice,” he wrote. “Unfortunately a lot of rumors and lies are being said but no worries god is with me and my brother. I love you @ynwsakchaser1 and @ynwjuvy #freeus,”

Well, Demons was later arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, the Miramar Police Department said in a tweet.

“Further investigation, supported by forensic evidence, concluded that Demons shot and killed Williams and Thomas Jr., and that Demons and Henry staged the crime scene to resemble a drive-by shooting,” police said.

Henry has also been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
