Wonder What You Would Look Like as a Cartoon?
We're blown away by the #toonmechallenge
While Inktober inspired artists across social media to post drawings inspired by daily prompts, January has officially been taken over by the #toonmechallenge. This challenge was created by illustrator René Córdova, a Marvel illustrator based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Córdova created the challenge on January 7th by sharing a selfie that was half photograph and half illustration. And from there, the #toonmechallenge took off like wildfire throughout Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
A number of illustrators, painters, graphic designers and art enthusiasts have taken on the challenge, posting their own toon morphs to social media. Many of these challenge entries have been drawn using various illustration apps and programs, while others approached the task with traditional methods, such as markers on a Polaroid.
We’ve put together some of our favorite examples of the #toonmechallenge in the gallery below, take a peek at the impressive art and let us know if you’ve participated in this challenge on social media.
