The Force is Strong With This Tattoo

If you were born in the 1980s and still pine for the toys and entertainment of your childhood don’t feel badly, there’s nothing wrong with a slight case of Peter Pan syndrome. It’s not your fault that you were born in the heyday of amazing movies like Star Wars and fantastic toys like Legos. By like tattoo artist Max Pniewski and just embrace that inner child and turn it into something cool.

Today’s Tattoo of the Day is a Lego Stormtrooper done in the signature style Pniewski has invented, a style he likes to call Legolism. Combining realism with the block oriented world of the Danish toys and rolling it all into a tattoo has allowed Pniewski to create tattoos unlike any we have ever seen before. Much like how Lego’s popularity has soared to newfound heights thanks to their involvement with massive pop culture franchises (including Star Wars) Pniewski has found that his most popular work ends up being the tattoos based off of well known characters.

“I like the first Superman I did and the Iron Man one because they were the most popular for a long time and took Legolism out there,” Pniewski says. “But one of my favorites is the ‘Electrician,’ which I did at the International Brussels Convention of 2014. It’s different and shows the way I want to go with Legolism next.”

The only downside about Pniewski’s Legolism tattoos is that you can’t play with them and customize them in quite the same way that you can the toys. Don’t worry about him though, he gets more then enough time to play with the real thing.

“I have two kids who like to play with Legos as well [Laughs],” Pniewski says. “It’s a perfect opportunity to buy new sets every now and again to play with and to collect more reference figures and blocks.”
