You’re a liar if you claim that you haven’t rocked out to “Eye of the Tiger” at least a few times in your life. But have you ever had the eye of the dragon? Thanks to some amazing work by Freshly Inked cover artist Josh Payne this guy has an unbelievably realistic third eye on his side. Well, as realistic as the eye of a mythical creature can look that is.
Payne’s work is always gorgeous—his use of vibrant colors is unparalleled in the industry. His style is perfectly suited for creating pieces like the one above since his use of color helps make a relatively small piece feel enormous. If you want to check out more work by Payne click here.
When people think about dragon tattoos they often will imagine a full Japanese-style back piece. And while we love those dragons they aren’t the only kind of dragon tattoos out there. Thanks to the popularity of Game of Thrones we’ve seen a bit of ink depicting Daenerys Targaryen’s brood, for example. We’ve collected a gallery of some of our favorite dragon tattoos that covers all different styles of art. You can check it out on this link.
And maybe the reason the above tattoo intrigued you so much was that it was of an eye. Eyes are the window to the soul—even in the case of a fire breathing beast—so it’s natural to be enthralled by them. It takes a damn talented artist to reproduce the eye in a manner that is convincing. Some artists, like Cris Gherman, have made a career out of doing eye tattoos. We’ve collected a gallery of some of the most lifelike eye tattoos here.
So keep your eyes on Inkedmag.com to see the latest and greatest tattoo art like this badass dragon eye by Josh Payne.
