A Toast to Art and Rebellion: Inside the COUP x Winterstone Collaboration
Bridging the worlds of ink, craft, and luxury.
Luxury, artistry, and edge come together in COUP Champagne’s newest limited edition release, created in collaboration with Inked Magazine and tattoo artist Daniel Winterstone.
At first glance, the matte black bottle feels powerful in its simplicity, minimal, sculptural, and unmistakably COUP. Look closer and you will see two roses crossing in an X formation, their stems fine and deliberate. One of those stems, almost hidden in plain sight, is Winterstone’s own signature. The design is both romantic and restrained, reflecting the balance of control and emotion that defines his tattoo work.
COUP is no ordinary champagne. Engineered with shatterproof glass and designed to be opened with a saber, COUP’s sabering experience turns celebration into performance. The flagship Supreme Metal Case is a set that includes two metal flutes, a forged black saber, and the bottle itself, all encased in a sleek black hard case that feels part luxury and part art installation.
COUP was born from the idea that champagne celebrations should be lived, not simply poured. It’s less about luxury and more about the moment when design, craft, and emotion come together. Each bottle is meant to be touched, personalized, and shared, serving as a canvas for self-expression. “We’ve never been interested in champagne as status,” says Tu. “It’s about ritual, that split second when you saber a bottle or inscribe a message. That’s the art form.”
At the heart of this collaboration is Daniel Winterstone, the Los Angeles based artist known professionally as Winter Stone. Renowned for his single needle, fine line tattoo work, Winterstone’s style blends precision with grace, earning him a roster of clients that includes Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Sophie Turner. His tattoos are minimalist and elegant, delicate pieces of wearable art that feel timeless rather than trendy.
“The WINTERSTONE x COUP collaboration began as an instant vision, the union of edge and elegance,” says Winterstone. “A sharp rose to complement the bottle’s bold lines, yet soft enough to echo its glass fragility. For me, it was always about the rose, strength wrapped in beauty.”
The behind the scenes shoot captured that synergy perfectly, blending ink culture with fine craftsmanship in a way that feels both elevated and raw. Every element, from the bottle’s tactile matte finish to the crossed roses etched in metallic black, tells a story of individuality, discipline, and creative rebellion.
The collaboration is available in a range of custom configurations, allowing collectors and fans to choose how they experience the release. The standard bottle offers the cleanest presentation, while the Solo and Signature cases elevate it with refined packaging. The Supreme and Supreme Metal cases are the top tier, pairing the bottle with custom flutes, a forged saber, and a durable travel case worthy of display. For those who want to share the moment, COUP also offers Trio and Mini sets, each designed with the same precision and attention to detail that define the brand’s approach to celebration.
The COUP x Winterstone bottle is more than a collector’s piece. It is a symbol of artistry and celebration, an object that bridges two worlds of craftsmanship and self expression. Watch the full story come to life in our exclusive behind the scenes video.
