40 Delightful Dolly Parton Tattoos

What's your favorite Dolly Parton song?

You may not be a fan of country music, but you can’t deny that Dolly Parton is an American treasure. Dolly Parton was born in Pittman Center, Tennessee on January 19th, 1946 and began her music career as a child, singing on radio stations in East Tennessee. She met Johnny Cash at the age of 13, who encouraged her to follow her dreams of becoming a musician. At 21, Parton made her album debut with “Hello, I’m Dolly,” in 1967 which included successful singles “Dumb Blonde” and “Something Fishy.”

Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, Parton continued to build her name as a musician and then in 1973, she released her smash hit “Jolene.” Just one year later, she released another massively successful hit, “I Will Always Love You,” which would eventually be covered by the late Whitney Houston. Over the course of seven decades, she’s released 51 studio albums and over 200 singles. She’s also ventured into acting, appearing in the 1980 film “9 to 5” (which was later adapted into a Tony-nominated musical) and even has her own theme park, Dollywood, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Throughout her career, Parton has been one of the most charitable musicians in Hollywood and recently donated $1 million toward vaccine research at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

In honor of Dolly Parton and all her big-haired glory, take a peek at 40 tattoos paying homage to this country music legend. These tattoos come from artists around the globe, showing that Dolly has made a vast impression on audiences worldwide. Then let us know your favorite Dolly Parton single (or album) in the comments section on social media.
