Spider-Man Tattoos That’ll Make Your Spidey Sense Tingle

With Great Tattoos Comes Great Responsibility

Spider-Man made his comic book debut in 1962’s “Amazing Fantasy #15”, and the world of comics has never been the same. At the time, Spider-Man was groundbreaking for being a teenage superhero who wasn’t just a sidekick. Instead, 16-year-old Peter Parker was saving New York City from the likes of the Green Goblin and Dr. Octopus all on his own, and on a school night, no less.

As a character, Peter Parker has been relatable to many fans through his nerdy demeanor and, for lack of a better term, his inexperience as a hero. All the best incarnations of Spider-Man show Peter’s awkward side or the difficulties of growing up and taking responsibility for one’s actions. Fans get to grow up alongside him and get a first-hand experience in not only Peter’s triumphs but his mistakes. Because Peter is not a perfect hero, we end up rooting for him more. What makes Spider-Man a great character is not how many times he saves the day but the number of times he gets back into the swing of things after failing.

Spider-Man has dominated various media forms outside of comics, appearing in numerous cartoons, video games, and even a poorly thought-out Broadway musical. Since 2002, Spider-Man has been a fixture on the big screen with the original Sam Raimi Trilogy and has been played by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. With “Spider-Man: No Way Home” coming out in December, we are excited to see where Spidey’s big-screen adventures will take him next. In the meantime, here are some amazing Spider-Man tattoos to look at while we eagerly await.

Note to Marvel: The next time you decide to reboot the series, can you please not send Peter back to high school. It’s about time you bring the “Back in Black” or “The Clone Saga” arc to the big screen, and that can’t happen if Spider-Man still has to deal with fifth-period physics.
