Daniel Silva Released From Jail

The former "Ink Master" contestant pleaded no-contest to vehicular manslaughter after a crash that killed YouTuber Corey La Barrie

After being sentenced to 364 days in jail this past August, former “Ink Master” contestant and celebrity tattooer Daniel Silva was released from jail on Thursday. 

Silva pleaded no contest to gross vehicular manslaughter stemming from the May car crash that killed YouTube star Corey La Barrie. Shortly after leaving a party celebrating La Barrie’s birthday, Silva’s McLaren sport car struck a stop sign and a tree at high speed. La Barrie was transported to the hospital where he would die form his injuries. Silva, who had been drinking earlier in the evening, attempted to leave the scene and was initially charged with murder.

In August, Silva struck a plea deal with prosecutors on the lesser charge of gross vehicular manslaughter. The tattoo artist was sentenced to 364 days in jail, 250 hours of community service and a four year suspended prison sentence, which would be served if he were violate the terms of his probation. 

Jail records show that Silva is being released “after serving his sentence,” according to CBS. If you are asking yourself about the math there, no, it hasn’t been a year since the sentencing. There may be more details disclosed in the coming days about why exactly Silva has been released. It also remains to be seen if he will be resuming his tattoo career.
