Bang Bang Gives Kylie Jenner Some Sanity

Sanity is a hard thing to hold on to in this crazy world of ours, but that’s no longer a concern for Kylie Jenner. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star will forever have a little piece of sanity quite literally inked onto her hip thanks to celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang.

Jenner took to Instagram on Monday morning to share the brand new ink with her millions of followers. The picture is raising eyebrows across the internet not only because of the tattoo, but because the ink’s placement forced the curvy Jenner to pull down her drawers a bit to give us a glimpse of her bare hip. And the look did not disappoint as it revealed a phonetic spelling of “sanity” in stunning red ink. We already knew that Jenner had a preference for red ink, as some of her earlier work was done in the hue. Like many of us, it seems like each tattoo Jenner gets is slightly larger and more detailed than the one before, this one being no exception.

When it comes to getting a script tattoo, especially when the tattoo is of only one word, a person has to think outside of the box to make themselves stand out from the crowd. Honestly, how many times have you seen someone with “believe” in cursive tattooed on their wrist? Jenner does just this by choosing to use the phonetic spelling of the word. This is cool for at least a couple of reasons. Firstly, it shows that Jenner and Bang Bang put some thought into the tattoo—phonetics are not exactly the most common thing anymore thanks to people using autocorrect far more often than opening the dictionary. Secondly, we honestly can’t think of more than two or three of these tattoos that we’ve ever seen. So while the idea is not completely original it is pretty uncommon, which makes it even cooler. And lastly, the editorial staff here at Inked can’t help but smile at the idea of Jenner getting such a nerdy little tattoo.

As we noted when Jenner took over the role of tattooer last time she visited Bang Bang, the two seem to have a pretty good relationship and we look forward to seeing what other tattoos they collaborate on in the future.
