40+ Tattoos About Nothing
Celebrate Larry David's 73rd birthday with "Seinfeld" tattoos
On July 5th, 1989 the pilot episode of “Seinfeld” premiered on NBC. The show stars Jerry Seinfeld as a fictionalized version of himself and is often described as a show about nothing. Prior to the show, Seinfeld was a stand-up comedian and was approached by NBC about creating a sitcom. He joined forces with Larry David to create the show, which aired for nine seasons and has been ranked as one of the best television shows of all time.
In addition to following the daily adventures of Seinfeld, the show centers around his four closest friends—Elaine Benes, George Costanza and Cosmo Kramer. In the show, Seinfeld plays himself as a neat, indifferent and fits the role of the show’s straight man—remaining composure despite his friend’s antics. Benes, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, was once Seinfeld’s girlfriend and went on to become his close friend. She’s portrayed as being enthusiastic, temperamental and at times superficial. Costanza, played by Jason Alexander, is Seinfeld’s childhood best friend and is neurotic, self-loathing and a serial liar—however, is loyal to his friends. Kramer, played by Michael Richards, is Seinfeld’s neighbor and can be described as eccentric, quirky and confident. The majority of the show is centered on Seinfeld’s apartment or other locations in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, such as Monk’s Café.
Seinfeld has had an impressive impact on not only the worlds of television, but also on the lives of audiences. For many, they’ve seen the show more times than they can count and will always be devoted to the series, no matter which streaming platform acquires it. In honor of Larry David’s upcoming 73rd birthday (July 2nd) and the show’s 31st anniversary, we’re celebrating with 40+ of our favorite “Seinfeld” inspired tattoos.
