Celebrate World Day of Music with Tattoos of Your Favorite Artists

Whether you love rap, r&b, pop or metal, you'll find a tattoo you love right here

June 21st, the same day as the Summer Solstice, is World Day of Music. Established in 1981 by French composer Maurice Fleuret, this holiday is celebrated in over 1,000 cities and 130 countries around the world. In normal, non-pandemic times, it’s typically observed with street performances and free concerts in cities. However, due to the current circumstances, this year’s World Day of Music will be celebrated differently.

Because public observations of music aren’t happening due to social distancing, we encourage all of our readers to celebrate this holiday virtually. That means going on your preferred streaming platform, whether it be Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, Tidal or Apple Music, and blasting your favorite tunes. I know that for me, my playlists are usually a mix of my favorite emo bands, Megan Thee Stallion and the occasional random Disney anthem.

To give you some inspiration for what to listen to on World Day of Music, we’ve gathered up some of our favorite tattoos of musicians created by world renowned artists. These musicians vary from current rappers to R&B icons to pop phenomenons to metal legends.
