Celebrate Tommy Chong’s 82nd Birthday with Cheech and Chong Tattoos
Happy Birthday to Hollywood's most beloved stoner
When I sat down to interview Tommy Chong for the cover of our 2018 cannabis issue, the first thing he said to me was “I’m a Gemini and I like girls that smell nice.” And while that sentence would be the most random thing in the world coming out of anyone else’s mouth, it’s something we’ve come to expect from Chong.
Tommy Chong was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1938 and got his start in entertainment as a musician, performing with Bobby Taylor and The Vancouvers. He went on to meet Cheech Marin through the comedy scene and the pair ultimately joined forces as Cheech and Chong. The pair collaborated on a number of comedy albums (four of which were nominated for Grammys) and starred in seven movies together. Cheech and Chong ultimately parted ways and Chong continued in entertainment, appearing in “That ’70s Show” “Zootopia” and “The Masked Singer.”
Chong is an icon in entertainment and will never be forgotten for his contributions to comedy. In honor of his 82nd birthday on May 24th, we’ve gathered up some of our favorite Cheech and Chong tattoos from talented artists around the world. Take a peek at the groovy ink in the gallery below, then let us know your thoughts on the cannabis legend in the comments section on social media. Far out!

Tattoo enthusiasts often claim addiction, but true addiction involves chemical and psychological dependence. Obsessive love for tattoos is not the same as addiction.
