Miller was a rapper and record producer who passed away from a drug overdose at the age of 26 on September 7th. He’s best known for his debut studio album, Blue Slide Park, which peaked at number one on the Billboard Top 200.
XXXTentacion
XXXTentacion was a rapper who passed away from a gunshot wound at the age of 20 on June 18th. His song Sad! leapt from number 52 to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 a week after his death, making him the first artist to top the top 100 chart posthumously since the Notorious B.I.G.
Stephen Hillenburg
Stephen Hillenburg was the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants who passed away from cardiopulmonary failure due to ALS On November 26th at the age of 57. SpongeBob SquarePants is one of the longest running American animated series and Hillenburg worked on the show until his death.
Anthony Bourdain
Anthony Bourdain was a celebrity chef and travel documentarian who passed away from suicide on June 8th at the age of 61. Bourdain won five Emmy awards for his show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.
Avicii
Avicii was a DJ and record producer who passed away from suicide on September 8th at the age of 28. His song “Wake Me Up” was a smash success in both Europe and the Americas, helping to bring electronic music to the mainstream music charts.
Stan Lee
Stan Lee was a comic book writer and publisher who passed away from cardiac arrest on November 12th at the age of 95. Lee created Marvel Comics and in collaboration, brought Spiderman, the Avengers, the Avengers, Black Panther and Iron Man into the world.
Burt Reynolds
Burt Reynolds was an actor who passed away from a heart attack on September 6th at the age of 82. He’s best known for his roles in Evening Shade and Boogie Nights.
Stephen Hawking
Stephen Hawking was a theoretical physicist, cosmologist and author who passed away from complications due to ALS on March 14th at the age of 76. He’s known for his general theory of relativity and his book A Brief History of Time.
Verne Troyer
Verne Troyer was an actor and comedian who passed away from suicide on April 21st at the age of 49. Troyer was best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers film franchise and for being one of the shortest men in the world at 2’8″.
Aretha Franklin
Aretha Franklin was a singer and civil rights activist who passed away from a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor on August 16th at the age of 76. Franklin was named the “Queen of Soul” during the 1960s and had 112 hits on the Billboard charts during her lifetime.
Zombie Boy
Zombie Boy was a model and tattoo collector who passed away from an alleged suicide on August 1st at the age of 32. Zombie Boy was best known for appearing in Lady Gaga’s music video for “Born This Way” and modeling for various fashion brands.
