While we love, love, love tattooed women, often there is a star on the other side of the camera. Meet Bilacous an amazing shooter from Portsmouth, England. We pick his brain in the interview below and show his amazing eye in the gallery that follows.
What did you have for lunch yesterday?
My girlfriend’s amazing chicken fajitas. I could live off them alone!
What type of camera do you work with?
I’m currently using a Nikon D3s and I love it. I started out with a Canon, a 400D I think. I stayed with Canon for a few years but now I’ve changed to Nikon I’ll never go back.
You have a knack for using natural light can you explain your love of it?
I’m not sure if I can explain why I love natural light, I just do. It’s honest.
When did you decide to go full-into photography?
About five or six years ago I was asked by a friend to take photos of her for a project she was working on. I really enjoyed myself and started taking pictures of a few other friends, just for fun really, but I was hooked. I went full time about three years ago and there’s no stopping me now.
Do tattoos pose a challenge when photographing?
Not at all. I love tattoos and love shooting models with tattoos. It’s probably more challenging for me to shoot a model without tattoos.
Do you find tattooed girls sexier than non-tattooed girls?
Of course! A girl can be sexy but add tattoos, good quality tattoos that is, and she is automatically sexier in my opinion.
Do you play music during your shoots?
I prefer to play music when I can, and usually what the model likes, I find it helps them to relax. If it were my choice of music it would be rock every time.
Do you think being tattooed has helped or hurt your dealings in photography?
As I mainly shoot tattooed models, we have tattoos in common, so I think it’s helped.
When did you start getting tattooed?
I got my first tattoo when I was 15 but didn’t start really covering myself until around 25. I have just a few small places left to fill.
Do you have a favorite piece on you?
I asked my two sons to invent a monster each and draw them, I then got their monsters tattooed on my leg. They’re definitely my favourite.
