These Parents Just Got the Most Heartfelt Tattoos for Their Daughter

Tattoos have taken on many new purposes in the last decade that greatly surpass just decorative body art. They’ve been used for therapeutic purposes, scar color blending, and medical informants, such as when people ink their blood types to their skin in case of emergencies. To one family in the United Kingdom, however, tattoos represented a way to let a little girl fit in. According to Mirror, Tanya and Adam Phillips aren’t new to the tattoo game, as both had ink prior to the birth of their youngest child, 18-month-old Honey-Rae, but their latest ink additions might just be the most influential pieces they ever get. Due to medical problems during her birth, Honey-Rae was born with a large birthmark that spans the majority of the lower right side of her body. As she has grown older, the birth mark has grown with her, something that greatly concerned Honey-Rae’s parents. As Tanya and Adam Phillips never wanted their daughter to ever feel left out or self-conscious about her birth marks, the two parents decided to give each other birthday gifts of tattoo sessions to get replicas of their daughter’s birthmark on their own legs. The proud, newly tattooed mother told Mirror, “We wanted Honey-Rae to feel special, that her birthmark was something to feel proud of and not embarrassed by,” and so far it seems like the one-year-old couldn’t be more happy that her parents now match her. Here at INKED we’ve come across a lot of awesome tattooed parents who have chosen to get ink for their kids, though not all have been as extensive as the ink in the Phillips family, the parental love is just as present. Check out some of our favorite tattooed parents right here and make sure to look at some more incredible ink parent’s have gotten in honor of their children right here, too.
