Angelina Jolie is one of the most famous A-list actresses of the 2000s and she established her spot as a leading lady in Hollywood after starring in 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. The action-adventure film is based on the popular video game Tomb Raider and it was a huge success at the box office, earning the fifth spot in the highest grossing films of that year. Since that film, Jolie went on to star in a number of popular action films, including 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, 2008’s Wanted and 2010’s Salt. However, while this films also performed well, none of them can hold a candle to Jolie’s OG action role. 

Many became cult followers of Jolie after she played Croft in Tomb Raider and over time, we began seeing tattoos in homage to her character.
