Body modification such as piercings, scarification, and stretched lobes go back hundreds of years in many tribal communities. In the west, their rise to popularity has been more subtle and many attribute the website/magazine Body Modification Ezine or BMe for bringing them into public light. Today, body mods are certainly not as frequent as heavily tattooed individuals, however, it’s not nearly as shocking to see someone with a face full of stretched piercings. In fact, many have found fans around the world through social media by posting photos and videos of their unique mods. This is the case for 19-year-old Skye Purdon, a body mod fanatic and influencer from the UK. Her alien-esque beauty has gained her over 70K followers and she continues to amaze audiences with her tongue and lip tricks.
