Kristen Stewart Gets Tattoo in Case of Life Imitating Art

Actors are known to go to great extremes to get into character for a role and it is often noted that these roles will stay with the actor for the rest of their lives. A couple of notable examples are when Christian Bale lost an ungodly amount of weight for The Machinist and how Daniel Day-Lewis refused to take prescription medicine for pneumonia during the filming of Gangs of New York since it was not available during the 1860’s.
Now you can put Kristen Stewart into that same category as she revealed on The Late Late Show with James Corden that she has gotten a tattoo to fit her role in the film Clouds of Sils Maria. In the film Stewart’s character has a tattoo on her right arm that was applied using makeup before filming. The makeup ended up leaving a lasting mark on the actress.
“I had it for two months so it was like the perfect little test drive,” Stewart told Corden. “I got back and I didn’t realize that I wanted it, I really missed it.”
Corden followed up with the standard line of questioning about what Stewart’s parents think about the tattoo without being aware that Stewarts mom, Hollywood script supervisor Jules Mann-Stewart, boasts a fair amount of tattoos herself. Stewart explains that having a tattooed family initially made her rebel in a way very different from most children.
“For years and years I was like I do not need that,” Stewart explains. “I am pure, I stand alone. And then I was like, I really like them though. And then I was like, mom, can you call your tattoo artist?”
