Left Shark is Dancing in Ink

Katy Perry‘s Super Bowl halftime show has been the talk of the internet since it aired on Sunday. While Perry was billed as the star of the show, it was one of her guest performers who really got the media talking. No, it wasn’t Lenny Kravitz singing “I Kissed A Girl” or Missy Elliot‘s unexpected cameo. Instead, it was the backup dancer dressed up as a shark to Perry’s left during “Teenage Dream,” a dancer who clearly did not remember his routine. Since his fish-out-of-water debut, Left Shark has become quite the social media phenomenon blowing up Twitter, Reddit, and Tumblr with numerous gifs and memes. And now, less than 48 hours after halftime, someone has taken to Instagram to post the first tattoo of our latest media icon. IG user Deucey Clark uploaded his latest ink from tattooist Rene Cordero displaying a photo of what appears to be an overjoyed dancing Left Shark. This Left Shark tattoo now marks the second work of ink inspired by this year’s half time show, as Perry got “XLIX” tattooed on her hand to represent her performance at the 49th Super Bowl. Since we can’t all be as poised as Perry, we are definitely thankful for Left Shark and the fun tattoo he’s inspired.
