Lil Wayne Drops Long-Awaited Album “Tha Carter VI”
Lil Wayne’s long-awaited album “Tha Carter VI” is here, with features from Bono, Bocelli, Jelly Roll, Big Sean, and more. Tunechi is back — stream now.
Five-time Grammy Award-winning rap icon Lil Wayne has officially released his highly anticipated 14th studio album, “Tha Carter VI,” via Young Money Entertainment/Republic Records. The 19-track project marks the sixth installment in his iconic “Tha Carter” series and features a powerhouse production lineup including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Wyclef Jean, and Wayne himself.
Six years in the making, “Tha Carter VI” showcases a wide range of collaborators, from legends like Andrea Bocelli and Bono to chart-toppers such as Jelly Roll, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, MGK, Kodak Black, and even his own sons, Kameron Carter and Lil Novi.
Reflecting on the process, Lil Wayne released the statement:
“Real art can’t be rushed — and y’all know I ain’t never been on nobody’s clock but mine. Been silent but not still. To the fans who’ve been waiting, I love you. This album is for the ones who’ve been riding with me through all Tha Carters. We takin’ it further than ever before with this one. Tunechi back. C6 is here. I’m just bein myself. Sorry for the wait.”
