Inked Man of the Month August 2026: Josh Is Building a Legacy Through Ink, Family, and Purpose
From professional football and psychology to leather craftsmanship and fatherhood, Josh's tattoos tell the story of a life shaped by creativity, resilience, and the people who matter most.
Josh has never fit neatly into one category.
Born and raised in Northern Ontario, Canada, he holds a Master’s degree in psychology, spent years working in child welfare, taught psychology at the college level, and now supervises in the field while co-owning Master Supply Co., a Canadian menswear brand known for its premium leather jackets and heritage-inspired outerwear.
For Josh, creativity has always found its way into everything he does, whether it’s designing jackets, building businesses, or collecting tattoos that reflect different chapters of his life.
The Meaning Behind Josh’s Tattoos
Unlike many heavily tattooed collectors, Josh never immersed himself in tattoo culture.
“I’ve always been drawn to tattoos aesthetically,” he says. “I’ve never really chased artists or spent months planning pieces. If an idea feels right, I usually just do it.”
His first tattoo came later than most, at 24 years old, but it carried deep personal significance.
His grandmother was an artist, and rather than reproducing one of her original sketches, Josh worked with his tattoo artist to reinterpret elements from her drawings into what became the foundation of his sleeve.
“I liked the idea of taking something she created and expressing it through a completely different medium,” he says.
Ironically, that very first tattoo remains unfinished nearly two decades later.
Over the years, his tattoo collection has grown organically, evolving alongside his life rather than following any master plan.
“I definitely have some bad tattoos,” he admits with a laugh. “But they represent different periods of my life, and I don’t need everything to be perfect.”
Tattoos That Tell His Story
While many of Josh’s tattoos exist simply because he appreciates the artwork, a handful carry deeper meaning.
The work inspired by his grandmother remains among his most personal, alongside another simple but significant piece, his wife Jana’s name.
The tattoo came during a trip to California, where she grew up.
“Everyone tells you never to tattoo your partner’s name,” he says. “We’ve been married 11 years now, so I’d say it worked out.”
Looking ahead, Josh already knows his next meaningful piece will honor his daughter. Her middle name is Wren, and he suspects a bird will eventually become part of his collection.
“I want it to represent our bond more than just be a name or a date.”
Inked Man of the Month August 2026 Looks Ahead
Being named Inked Man of the Month feels like coming full circle.
Years ago, Josh worked with Inked on an editorial shoot with legendary photographer Mike Ruiz in New York, during a chapter of his life centered around modeling and social media.
“A lot has changed since then,” he says. “Coming back to Inked at this stage of my life feels really special.”
Today, his focus is on continuing to grow Master Supply Co., expanding its reach while staying true to the craftsmanship and quality that inspired it from the beginning.
The brand has already found its way onto musicians from Motionless in White, August Burns Red, Atreyu, Scott Stapp, Lil Jon, and even the Jonas Brothers, a surreal moment for someone whose life has always had music playing in the background.
Still, for Josh, success isn’t measured by business milestones or social media recognition.
It’s measured at home.
Because while tattoos may tell the story of where he’s been, fatherhood is shaping the person he’s still becoming.
