The Forgotscars: Celebrating the Snubs

By Jon Chattman, Entertainment Director

It happens every year. You wake up Oscar morning (I do anyway), and a couple actors, directors, whatever, get left out in the dark. This year, of course, the most notable omission was James Franco, who as I suspected, couldn’t overcome the allegations against him – especially not when they started popping up during Academy Award voting week. So, The Disaster Artist will stay home on Oscar night. But, he won’t be alone. There were a bunch of others who felt the gold guy’s cold shoulder: Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Tiffany Haddish…I could go on and on. So I will. Hong Chau was robbed! (Sorry, The Emoji Movie. I bet it was close.) With all this being said, I’m carrying a tradition I’ve been doing for well over a decade: honoring the Oscar forgotten. Here are the nominees for The Forgotscars. Weigh in below on who you think should win or who I may have missed. While they’ll be no awards, swanky after parties, or anything really, I’m hoping it’s just an honor to be nominated for these very, very fake (but well-intentioned) awards. Here we go, and the nominees weren’t, err, are…
