French Bulldog Tattoos Are Just As Cute As Frenchies IRL

Ever since Lady Gaga’s French bulldog, Asia, appeared on the pop star’s Instagram in 2014 it seems Frenchies are everywhere we look. In March 2015, Asia got an Instagram, @MissAsiaKinney (Kinney is Gaga’s fiance’s last name: Taylor Kinney.) Gaga’s pup with a big personality racked up 230,000 followers rather quickly. Now, across all social media platforms and certainly on the streets of New York City, French bulldogs have become the most popular pup on the market.

In the last 10 years, breeders have seen a 245 percent increase in registration for Frenchies nationwide, according to Forbes. In 2005, individual breeders were welcoming on average 4,210 Frenchies into the world annually. In 2015, French bulldog breeders welcomed about 10,315 new pups into the world.

The most-wanted minis come at no small price. The cost of a French bulldog can range anywhere from $2,000 to $7,000. But they’re so cute the price is just worth it. To get a tattoo of a Frenchie from an artist such as Mr. K, who works out of Bang Bang NYC, can start at $300. Much cheaper than the real thing, but that’s just for a tiny tattoo (see slides two and 16).

Below, get major Frenchie and tattoo envy and start saving—for ink or for a puppy.
