Pink has become the latest celebrity to pose au naturel for PETA’s latest campaign against the fur industry. By wearing nothing at all the singer allows us to get a good look at all of her tattoos, and we agree that they are far more attractive than any fur coat could be. Photographer Ruven Afanador was lucky enough to shoot the singer/animal rights activist for the billboard that was unveiled in New York’s Times Square shortly before the fashion world arrives for New York Fashion Week.
The singer explains in a statement that she has not always been as conscious about what she wore.
“I would like to say I’ve always been fur-free so I could be proud of myself,” Pink reveals. “Unfortunately, I went through a selfish phase and fur on a couple of occasions. But I wised up and now boycott fur completely.”
By participating in the campaign Pink is joining a pretty elite group of other celebs who have disrobed to protest fur. The group includes Christy Turlington, Olivia Munn, Khloe Kardashian, and Inked favorite Stevie Johnson.
Characteristically Pink spews a bit of venom when the subject of people wearing fur comes up.
“I wish everyone was forced to learn the horrors that these animals go through for fashion trends,” Pink explains. “I hope fur wearers get bitten in the ass by the same kind of animal they wear on their back.”
Now that’s something that we would like to see.
