Stevie Johnson Shows Off Ink for PETA
Ink for PETA! Stevie Johnson takes a stand against wearing fur in PETA's 'Ink, Not Mink' campaign. Discover why he's encouraging others to avoid fur.
This winter San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Stevie Johnson wants to make sure that people avoid wearing fur. Johnson stripped down to show off his ink as he shot a video for PETA’s “Ink, Not Mink” campaign.
Johnson credits another wide receiver named Johnson, former NFL star Chad Johnson, for bringing the issue to his attention years ago. The PETA ad made Johnson want to look into the issue further and what he learned horrified him.
“It was eye-opening, very eye-opening,” Johnson says in the video. “It was scarier than any scary movie that’s out there.”
Johnson hopes that by sharing the video with friends, family and fans that he can educate other people about the fur industry. As an animal lover Johnson encourages people to think about what it must be like for these animals.
“This is my skin, I put that ink on it,” Johnson says in the video. “And it’s cool, man. Animals are just like us.”
